What is post-construction cleaning?

Post-Construction Cleaning, scoped for the space and condition

Post-construction cleaning addresses fine dust and safe-to-remove residue after renovation. The base scope covers agreed exposed surfaces; cabinet interiors, interior windows, carpet extraction, and specialty residue work are quoted separately when selected. Service is available in Irvine, Ladera Ranch, Tustin, and newly developed Orange County communities.

The method depends on the material, condition, access, and result you need. We explain the recommended approach and your upfront price first.

Our process

Complete transparency — no surprises

Tell us the scope — a single renovated room or a whole build — so we bring the right crew and time. Post-construction cleaning is heavier than any standard clean; we plan for multiple passes because fine dust resettles after the first round.

We work in stages from higher exposed surfaces down, using appropriate dust-control and safe residue-removal methods. Debris hauling and treatment of adhesive, paint, grout haze, or other specialty residue are performed only when specifically confirmed.

We review the completed scope and point out any remaining construction defect, unsafe residue, or unfinished trade work. Fine dust can resettle, so expectations and any additional pass are discussed honestly.

What to expect

Customer-focused from start to finish

Post-construction cleaning addresses agreed fine dust and safe-to-remove residue after a build or remodel. Project stage, debris responsibility, utilities, access, materials, and any specialty work are confirmed before service.

We work through the confirmed areas in stages, using appropriate dust-control and safe residue-removal methods. Interior windows, cabinet interiors, carpet extraction, debris hauling, and specialty residue work are included only when selected and priced separately.

The goal is a cleaner, usable space after construction, with the completed scope reviewed before departure. Some residue, damage, or unfinished contractor work may require a trade specialist rather than cleaning.

Good to know

Post-Construction Cleaning questions

Why is drywall dust still everywhere after I cleaned three times?

Because it's ultra-fine and it resettles. Every pass puts it back in the air, so cleaning bottom-up or in one sweep guarantees a fourth round. Post-construction cleaning is done top-down in stages, with HEPA filtration and dwell time between passes to let airborne dust land before the final wipe.

Should I clean before or after the contractor's final walkthrough?

After. Punch-list work generates its own dust, and a clean done before it just gets undone. Get the trades fully out, then bring in cleaning. If the contractor promised a "broom clean," understand that's debris removal — it isn't the same product as a post-construction clean.

Does it include inside cabinets, vents, and window tracks?

For post-construction, that's where the dust actually goes. Window tracks and sills, vent covers, light fixtures, and the tops of door frames all get done, because that's the difference between a house that looks clean and one that stops producing dust in week three. Cabinet and drawer interiors and interior windows stay separately selected paid add-ons — worth adding here, since a remodel puts dust inside both.

How many cleanings will it take?

Usually two. A rough clean once trades are out, then a final detail a few days later after the remaining airborne dust has settled. A single visit on a full remodel is either priced very high or planning to miss the second wave.

Can you do it while I'm already living there?

Yes, and it's common with kitchen and bath remodels. Tell us which rooms stayed sealed and which didn't — dust travels through HVAC returns, so the "untouched" bedroom on the other side of the house frequently isn't. We'll scope it honestly instead of assuming the plastic sheeting worked.
