The Questions LA Clients Ask Most Before Booking
Ranked from most-asked down: will you arrive on time, how fast will someone reply, what will it actually cost, and what happens if something is missed. Answered with published figures and real reviews.

The same nine questions come up before almost every Los Angeles booking, and the top three are always arrival time, reply speed, and price. Art's Cleaning Services replies as soon as possible during business hours, quotes from a published $200–$550+ range ($120–$300+ for Maid Service), and backs every visit with a 100% satisfaction promise. Ranked, in the order people actually ask them.
1. Will you actually arrive when you said you would?
Yes, and it is the single most-mentioned thing in our reviews. Punctuality is what people are really testing when they book a first clean.
Andrew T., a Yelp reviewer, summarised it in one line: "they show up on time, do a thorough job, and are done quickly!" H.C. C. wrote much the same on Yelp: "Art's team did a wonderful job! They arrived on time, were very respectful, and made sure I was happy with the job before they left."
Kara G. added the detail that matters in an apartment or a finished home, noting the team "Arrived at time specified, protected wall corners and floor."
2. How fast will someone actually reply to me?
We reply as soon as possible during business hours. Same-day availability depends on the day’s route and remaining capacity.
A fast reply is useful even when the answer is no. Knowing at 9am that today is full leaves you the whole day to arrange something else, which a three-hour silence does not.
3. What will it cost, and will the price change on the day?
You get a written estimate upfront, and any change on arrival is explained and approved by you first. Los Angeles has no separate city price list — jobs are quoted from our published service ranges: $200–$550+ for most services and $120–$300+ for Maid Service.
Where you land inside the band comes from square footage, bathroom count, current condition, and any add-ons. Lela M. described how that should feel: "no added surprise fees. What he quoted is what I was charged."
Darcy C. wrote on Yelp, more briefly: "He always does a very thorough job and the pricing is on point." For a fuller breakdown of what moves the number, see our guide to house cleaning costs in West LA and Santa Monica.
4. Can I book a cleaning today?
Often, yes, if a slot is still open in that day's route. Morning requests have far better odds than late-afternoon ones, and the Westside has the best availability because our office sits at 2001 S Barrington Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90025.
Weekends included. Nicole W. wrote on Yelp that we "accommodated a cleaning on a Sunday when nobody else was available."
Same-Day Cleaning is the service to ask for, and the full picture is in our article on same-day cleaning in Los Angeles.
5. What exactly gets cleaned?
A written room-by-room checklist, in every home, every visit — and on deep cleans, the full 50-Point Checklist. It breaks down as:
| Area | Points on the checklist |
|---|---|
| Kitchen | 12 |
| Bathrooms | 12 |
| Living areas | 12 |
| Bedrooms | 6 |
| All around the house | 8 |
| Total | 50 |
Three jobs sit outside those 50 and are billed as paid add-ons: inside the oven, inside the fridge, and interior windows. Ask for them when you request the quote, not on the day.
A deep clean goes further still — grout lines, soap scum, grease behind the stove, baseboards, and vent covers. On Yelp, bonita s. described a deep clean in one line: "They really did dig in the corners."
6. How long will it take?
It depends on home size, condition, and crew size, so we give you the window with the quote rather than a generic number. Published reviews give a realistic sense of the spread.
J Lin wrote that two cleaners left an 800 sq ft condo "spotless in 2 hours." That is a small, empty unit; a lived-in home with a hard-used kitchen runs considerably longer.
Madie O. gives a useful mid-point for a smaller job: "She took about 2.5 hours for 2.5 bathrooms and it was spotless."
7. Who comes to my home?
Yes to both. Every cleaner is background- and reference-checked before entering a client home.
This is also what lets most clients skip being home. A gate code, lockbox, or doorman instruction is enough, and plenty of Westside clients simply return to a finished house.
Some LA buildings ask vendors for paperwork on file before granting access. Tell us what your building needs when you book and we will sort it out with management before the first visit.
8. Will you be careful with my home and my pets?
Care with the property is part of the job, not an extra. Kara G.'s note that the team "Arrived at time specified, protected wall corners and floor" describes the default, not a special request.
For animals, tell us which pets are home, where they will be, and any doors to leave closed. We use eco-friendly products as standard, which matters most in smaller units where there is less air to dissipate residue.
If you live in a compact Westside unit with a shedding dog or cat, our guide on cleaning an LA apartment with pets covers the order of work that actually clears hair and odor.
9. What happens if something gets missed?
We come back and re-clean it, free. That is our 100% satisfaction promise, and it applies to every service and every neighborhood we cover.
Tell us what was missed rather than living with it. A re-clean costs you nothing and it is how a standard stays a standard across thousands of homes.
Where can I read your reviews?
Across five platforms, and the counts are public. We have a 4.9 average rating and 850+ five-star reviews overall.
| Platform | Reviews |
|---|---|
| 565 | |
| Yelp | 196 |
| Thumbtack | 107 |
| 44 | |
| Nextdoor | Neighborhood recommendations |
The voices quoted throughout this article — Nicole W., Darcy C., bonita s., and H.C. C. — all wrote on Yelp, which is the set worth reading if you want customers' own words rather than a national average.
How do I get an accurate quote in one message?
Send these five things and you will usually get a written estimate back rather than a follow-up question.
- Bedrooms and bathrooms, plus rough square footage if you know it.
- Your ZIP code — 90025, 90401, 90034, 90066, whichever applies.
- Which service — standard, deep, recurring, move-in, or move-out.
- Condition — when the home was last cleaned professionally, honestly.
- Add-ons — inside the oven, inside the fridge, or interior windows.
Which Los Angeles neighborhoods do you cover?
The Westside most densely, working out from our 90025 office. That includes West LA (90025, 90064), Santa Monica (90401–90405), and Culver City (90230, 90232).
Also Westwood (90024), Palms (90034), Mar Vista (90066), Venice (90291), Marina del Rey (90292), Playa Vista (90094), Century City (90067), Brentwood (90049), Beverly Hills (90210, 90212), and West Hollywood (90069).
The bottom line
The questions come in a predictable order, and so do the answers: we reply as soon as possible during business hours, arrive inside the agreed window, provide a written estimate from a published range, and re-clean free if something in scope is missed.
Art's Cleaning Services has cleaned 5,000+ homes since 2021 and holds a 4.9 rating across 850+ five-star reviews. If you are still choosing a service, our comparison of housekeeping, maid service, and deep cleaning is the fastest way to decide.
